Mr. Flynn, who was 65 years old, was the cherished father of a very special person who can always make me laugh. My friend Emily lost her dad and her whole family lost a dear, sweet and kind man. He succumbed after a valiant battle with cancer on July 7th.
Mr. Flynn is survived by his beloved wife Patricia(nee' Lamb)of Haddonfield. Also survived by his 6 children and their respective spouses:Elizabeth A. Le (Thai) of Browns Mills, NJ, Emily S. Matusieski (Chris) of Collingswood, J. Michael Flynn, Jr. (Kelly Lenzi) of Margate, NJ, Lesley A. Flynn, Jared M. Flynn and Hailey P. Flynn all of Haddonfield. Also survived by his 3 most treasured grandchildren and one brother,Joseph Gary Flynn (Cristine) of Collingswood.
Mr. Flynn grew up in Collingswood, graduated from Villanova University and joined the US Navy in 1962. He retired after 24 years of service as a Commander in 1986. Then he began his second career and retired after 19 years as the Clerk for the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.
***Written By Emily, his daughter***
And I never will forget him, for he made me what I am.
Though he may be gone, memories linger on.
And I miss him....
The Old Man.

An Irish Prayer
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of his hand

Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.
