JUDITH "JUDI” VAN METER JACKSON, age 71, of Sunbury, died Friday evening June 26, 2015 at the Kobacker House in Columbus.
She was born on January 3, 1944 in Columbus to the late Morris and Ernestine (Humphreys) Van Meter. She was a graduate of Central High School and attended Ohio Dominican College. She was a member of the St John Neumann Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered her time.
Judi enjoyed baking, crafts, doing genealogy and her canine companion, Sadie. Judi enjoyed a good meal at KFC and enjoyed traveling. Judi had a little difficulty with directions but always found her way back home.
She is survived by her husband: Richard J. Jackson and they were married August 3, 1998; sons: Charles “Chuckie” (Robyn) Montgomery of Umatilla, Florida, Patrick (Michelle) Montgomery of Sunbury, Eric (Jaimee) Montgomery of Sunbury, Matthew (Laura) Salts of Dublin, Lt.Col. Joseph (Ellen) Jackson of Valrico, Florida; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Christopher, Samantha, Carter, Maddison, Sevyn, Kameron, Chad, Keaton, Ashley, Nathan, Andrew, Jakob, Henry and 3 great-grandsons; sister: Verna Daniel of Columbus, Rosalee Greenwood of Columbus, Betty Jo Brabb of South Carolina.
A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at the St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9633 E State Route 37, Sunbury with Fr. David Sizemore celebrant. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Union Cemetery. Arrangement entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.
