After a protracted battle with cancer Stephen “Drew” Jenkins died on June 24, 2015 in McLeansville, NC at the age of 62. He leaves behind his wife Mary Jenkins; his son Justin and wife Keri Jenkins and grandchildren Cameron, Britaney, Kyle and Jaxon; his son Stephen Drew Jenkins and grandson Stephen; and his son Garrett Windsor Jenkins.

Drew, was born on July 1, 1952, in Martinsburg, WV, to Marion Eugene Jenkins, and Nora Elizabeth Dingler. He grew up in Winchester, VA and graduated from James Wood High School.

Drew married Mary Monahan on September 23, 1984. They spent the majority of their lives in New Market, MD where they raised their three sons. In 2007 they relocated to North Carolina for Drew’s job transfer with CLI / Sheetz Incorporated..

Drew was a driven professional who spent his entire life in the trucking and transportation industry. He started his career with Hahn Transportation of New Market, MD. In 1995, he transferred to CLI / Sheetz Incorporated where he began his long and successful career as a terminal manager where he was not only a boss to his guys but a good friend. When diagnosed with liver cancer in 2009, he remained dedicated to his work and in his will to fight his illness. He remained a brave, iron-willed man, even throughout his final months.

Drew is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren, as well as sister Ann Holland McKeel; brother, David and wife Wanda Jenkins; brother, Jeff Hedges and wife Jamie; and numerous step brothers, step sisters, nieces and nephews.

His parents preceded him in death.

Drew requested to be cremated. A visitation will be held on Monday June 29, 2015 at 11:00am at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home in Greensboro, NC with a memorial service to be held the same day starting at 12:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, CB #7295 UNC-CH, Chapel Hill, NC 27599-7295 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro 2500 Summit Ave. Greensboro, NC 27405.
