Within seven months of her father's death, Sarah was joined in marriage, in Nassau on New Providence Island, to Hon. William Fairfax, 27 March 1723.
Sarah and William were blessed with four children, the first two were born in Nassau, The Bahamas and the last two in Salem or Marblehead, Essex County, Massachusetts, where William had been appointed Collector of Customs for the Crown:

A few days after giving birth to Sarah, Sarah Walker Fairfax passed away. Her dying wish was for William to soon marry her friend Deborah (Gedney) Clarke of Salem, the widow of Francis Clarke.
