She was born on June 2, 1953 in Pueblo, Colorado, the daughter of Jack Garten and Altha Maude (Stewart) Garten. On July 3, 1971, Carol married John J. Ritter in Sharon, KS. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2009.
Carol was the former caretaker of Highland Cemetery and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are two daughters, Jana Foster of Medicine Lodge, KS and Jackie Oyler of Medicine Lodge, KS; five grandchildren; one brother, Jack Garten, Jr. of Medicine Lodge, KS;
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015 at the First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, KS with Pastor Tom Walters officiating. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Sun City, KS.
