On September 22, 1920, she married Carroll B. Shuster in Henderson. Together, they had 8 children, four of whom are still living. Deceased are Kathleen Grace Shuster Lucas,(interred at Oak Grove Cemetery, Shiawassee County, Michigan), Alice Doretta Shuster Ferguson (interred at Oak Grove Cemetery, Shiawassee County, Michigan), Arlin Carroll Shuster (cremated), and Marland Daniel Shuster (interred at Riverside near his parents). At the time of her death, Grandma also had 33 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Percy, Alton Overpack and Delmer Rice; a sister, Alice Doretta Overpack; and a granddaughter, Barbara Jo Shuster, buried next to Grandma and Grandpa.
On September 18, 1958, just after his retirement, Grandpa was taking Grandma to work when they were involved in a car-train accident at a blind crossing; Grandma suffered severe injuries and spent several months recovering in the hospital and at home. Grandpa did not survive the accident, passing away the next day, September 19, 1958. After Grandpa's death, Grandma kept herself busy buying houses, fixing them up and renting them out or selling them. She was a collector of everything. She loved yard sales before they were fashionable and hats and wigs--lots of hats. Grandma had a small travel trailer and she would load it up and take off for the corners of the earth, spending winters in Arizona near one of her daughters.
Grandma is lovingly remembered and missed by her family.
