Olga M. Biel, 93, formerly of Wilcox, died early Sunday, March 4, 2018 at The Lutheran Home of Kane.
The last surviving child of the late Joseph and Edifigia Damier, she was born in Italy on March 24, 1924. On May 10, 2001, she lost her husband, Vincent James Biel, whom she married Nov. 15, 1941.
Olga worked many years as a custodian at the Johnsonburg Area Elementary School. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and the Wilcox Sportsmen's. Living all her life in the Wilcox area, she enjoyed Polka music and was well known for her famous spaghetti dinners.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Donna Biel; her grandchildren, Theresa Biel, Annie (Jeff) Wolfe, Amy (Scott) Krug, Jeff (Tina) Biel, Bethany (Rob) Norlin and James Biel II; and her great-grandchildren, Ashley Hnath, Cole Norlin, Skylar Biel, Alex Krug, Kaylee Biel, Sailor Biel, Cael Norlin and Aiden Biel.
In addition to her parents and husband, Olga was preceded in death by her brother, Honey Damier; a sister, Nita Eaton; and all three of her children, Paul "Bogie" Biel, James Vincent Biel and Olivia M. Biel.
A funeral service for Olga M. Biel will be held Wednesday, March 7 at 10 a.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home, Johnsonburg, with Father David Wilson as celebrant. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Rasselas.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 7 from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
