Spouse: Sandy Sutherland. Married December 27, 1979 Michigan.
Loving husband, brother, uncle, and son-in law, John Earl Linde (60), passed away suddenly and went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 24, 2012.

John Earl Linde was born in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan to the late Arthur and Rosemary Linde. He attended Hall of the Divine Child Catholic Military School until High School graduating from Grosse Pointe North in 1970. He attended Eastern Michigan University where he received a BA in Chemical Engineering, and Music. He also received two Masters Degrees from the University of Michigan in Chemical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering. He was also an Undergrad teacher whilst there.

John moved to Huntington Beach, California in 1979 when he married his wife of 32 years, Sandi Sutherland. John and Sandi loved travel and photography and their dogs and cats. He and his wife enjoyed making several trips to Europe especially England, Scotland and Wales, which he enjoyed the most. John excelled in photography and many beautiful works resulted from his trips. He remained an avid photographer taking daily trips to the ocean to photograph the sunsets he loved so much.

John worked for TRW from 1979 as a systems engineer until the company became Northrop Grumman in 2002. He worked for Northrop as a senior systems engineer until his retirement in October 2011. He was also an adjunct professor at Long Beach City College teaching computer programming courses.
He was intensely interested in music in many forms, enjoying jazz, classical, rock, contemporary Christian and Celtic. He was also very active in Karate, for which he received a brown belt in Shotokan. Here he met his Sensei and longtime friend, Dave Conklin.

John was a tender, loving and dedicated advocate for his mother in law, Elsa Sutherland, being extremely involved in her care up until he passed away. He was always the one who could make her smile.

John loved his dogs and cats and one of the highlights of his week was a visit every Saturday to the Newport Beach Veterinary Hospital where he enjoyed the conversations and company of Dr. Cohen. They shared an avid interest in Science Fiction and enjoyed a mutual sense of humor.

John is remembered by all who knew him as a person who was very friendly, cheerful, and had a great sense of humor. He is also remembered for his desire to fix anything you had that needed repair, or to find solutions to your questions especially, if they involved computers or anything mechanical. He was a wizard with these things. He was also very interested and involved in supporting Sandi's teaching career and worked on many weekends in her classroom.

He leaves behind his loving wife Sandi and their fur children, his brother, Louis, sister-in-law, Dorri, five nieces, Lynnae, Lorri, Luanne (Lori and Louis) Sarah and Jamie (Wally and Carol) and one nephew, Louis Jr. His other brother, Bill, and nephew Justin predeceased him.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.โ€
