Cruz married Alexa Ann Marquez on May 1, 2010 in Odessa, Texas. He is the son of Cruz Sr. and Olga Abila. He was raised in Barstow and was a graduate of Pecos High School (1991), and Texas A&M University (1995) with a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering. He died unexpectedly in Dallas.
He is survived by his parents, wife, two daughters, two brothers, and his grandmother.
