Mr. Carlos Ray Johnson, 72, of Hamburg went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at the John McClellan Memorial Veteran's Hospital in Little Rock. Mr. Johnson was a native of Parkdale, a resident of Hamburg for many years and a former resident of Sacramento, California, and Canton, Texas. He was a retired carpet store owner and installer and he was a farmer. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Hamburg Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 9360 and the Ashley County Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene & Norma Rea Myers Johnson and a brother, Frank Johnson. He is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Flora Scroggins Johnson; a son, David Johnson and wife, Melissa, all of Hamburg; a daughter, Pamela Dickson and husband, Huey; a sister, Peggy Skender, all of Crossett; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday at the Parkdale Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Tucker & Rev. Robin Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Parkdale Cemetery. Pallbearers are Joel Reed, Harvey Allison, Luke Saucier, Gary Skender, Freddie Scroggins and Mike Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Gene Scroggins, Jim,Steve,Matt and John Skender,J.W. Martin, Hal Cameron, James Spurlock and Barney Allison. Memorials may be made to the Parkdale Cemetery Association, c/o Mrs. Glenda Wells, PO Box 104, Parkdale, AR 71661. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home
