CARL GILLIS, 81, of Tebbs Avenue, Greendale, Indiana died
at 4:26 A.M. Sunday at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Gillis was born on June 6, 1919 in Cayuga, Indiana in Vermillion County. He was the oldest son of Carl and Goldie Leach Gillis. He was formerly married to the late Edna Mae Kimbrell Hornsby who passed away on May 26, 1995. He served in law enforcement for 20 years as a patrolman with the Aurora, IN Police Dept., as a Captain with the Lawrenceburg, IN Police and as Dearborn Co. Sheriff for two terms. He is survived by his second wife, Blanche; a sister, Merlin Gilliand of West Lebanon, IN; three brothers, Barney and Don of Georgia and Otis of Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Madison, Indiana in Jefferson Co.
