Joseph Daniel Stakely, age 33, returned to his Heavenly Father in the early morning hours on Thursday, March 19, 2015 in Morgan County as the result of a single vehicle accident near Devil's Slide.

Born October 26, 1981 in Cleveland, TN he moved with his family to Utah where he turned 3. He grew up in Richfield, Layton and Riverdale.

Dan enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August 2000 and completed Boot Camp in Waukegan, Illinois, October. He was stationed on the USS Theodore Roosevelt CV-71 in Norfolk VA during 9-11 and transferred to the USS Frank Cable AS-40 stationed in Guam. He was honorably discharged in April 2004 after a knee injury aboard his ship in 2003.

He married Emilie Dawn Wolfley, October 11, 2006 in Meridian, Idaho. Together they had three children.

As a civilian he worked as a Unarmed Security Officer, a ranch hand in Montana, drove for several trucking companies. He graduated from the Milan Institute with Top Honors along with his wife, Emilie Dawn Stakely as a Medical Assistant with skills he often used while driving truck. He was currently attending Walden University studying Communications.

He married Mandee Elizabeth Finney on January 2, 2015 in Riverdale, Utah.

He is preceded in death by Alton Ray Mays Stakely Jr. (brother), Emilie Dawn Stakely (wife), his paternal Grandmother Virginia Mae Louise Fuller Stakely Mays, maternal Grandfather Kenneth Blaine Wall, and Great Grandparents he knew well.

He leaves behind his daughter Makayla D. Stakely and 2 sons Joseph D. Stakely JR. and Robert D. Stakely, mother Linda L. Wall, brother Steven L.R. Stakely, and wife Mandee E. Stakely.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a proud veteran, member of the VFW, and a Wounded Warrior Alumni.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday March 24, 2015 at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. No Public Viewing.
