In Loving Memory
Our Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend passed away today at her home in Tucson, AZ after her battle with cancer.
She was born October 9, 1943 in Phoenix, AZ to Robert and Clara Leslie. She spent most of her growing up years in Boise, ID. She later relocated to Utah where she raised her family.
She spent 18 years working for the U.S. Forest Service at their Shrub Sciences Lab in Provo, UT. She started as a secretary and moved up to be the Business Manager. She loved the people she worked with and made many lifelong friends while there.
She has been a Soldier in the Salvation Army since her teen years. She loved and was devoted to the Salvation Army. For the last 11 years she has served them as an Accountant and Bookkeeper in their Rehab Center in Tucson. She was devoted to helping others find a better way of being that didn't include substance abuse.
Mom loved life and being there for people. She lived a full life and made sure that her family knew she loved them with all her being.
She touched many lives throughout her life and will be missed by so many.
She is survived by her children: David (Erin) Kauffman; Alex (Rachel) Kauffman; Patty (Jim) Appleton; Tom (Terrie) Kauffman; and Sonya (Josh) Hardiek. 19 Grandchildren; Annetta (Kauffman) Simmons; Alex Kauffman; Doug Kauffman; Jeanette (Appleton) Dalton; Chris Kauffman; Jessica (Appleton) Powell; Skylar Kauffman; C.J. Appleton; Seth Kauffman; Cory Dilley; Roger Dilley; Zack Kauffman; Allison Kauffman; Jackson Kauffman; Amber Kauffman; Gage Jones; Jordan & Talon Hardiek; and Joyceanne Kauffman. 18 Great Grandchildren; Braden; Abbie; Addison; Damon; Jorjia; Aspyn; Michael; Haven; Jace; Baylie; Cameron; Danny; Rocky; Tommy; Shana; Paulette; Gabe; and Gracie. She is also survived by one sister, Marlo (Dallas) Pedersen.
She has been greeted at Heavens gate by those who preceded her in death. Her twin daughters Jennifer and Joyce Powell; parents Verne Robert Leslie and Clara Lillian (Sem) Leslie; and her brother Nelson Leslie along with many others.
She will be missed greatly. In lieu of flowers she has asked that donations be made to the Salvation Army. Arizona services to be held March 29, 2014 at Amphi Corps Community Center 218 E Prince Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705 beginning at 5 p.m. Utah services to be held March 30, 2014 at the Eagle's Lodge, 210 N, 600 W., Pleasant Grove, Utah beginning at 2 p.m.
