Son of Joshua Fanning Penney and Hannah Maria Howell, husband of Agnes Lillian Kaler and father of Madeline Joy (married Allyn Preston Robinson) and Harold Fanning Penney.

Obituary - Franklin Forrest Penney, father of Mrs. Allyn P. Robinson, of Sayville, died on Sunday at his home in Center Moriches after a long illness. Mr. Penney was a lifelong and highly respected resident of that village. He was 83 years old.

Mr. Penney was a boat builder, having a business on Senix Creek until his health failed. He was an elder and trustee of the Center Moriches Presbyterian Church and superintendent of the Sunday school for more than 40 years. He was Past Noble Grand of Warratta Lodge, I.O.O.F, and chaplain of the lodge for many years. He was also a former director of the Center Moriches Bank.

Funeral services were held in the Center Moriches Presbyterian Church on Wednesday with the Rev. S. Hall Barrett, Jr., pastor of the church, officiating.

Mr. Penney is survived by a wife, Mrs. Amie Penney, Mrs. Robinson, and a son, Harold Penney, of Cleveland, O. He also leaves eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
