Billy Gaffney was a four year old child who disappeared while playing with two friends in the winter of 1927. His disappearance was later linked to a man named Albert Fish, who had been responsible for a string of child abductions and homicides in the New York area around this time, most significantly the murder of 10 year old Grace Budd the following year. Fish was sighted with Billy shortly after his disappearance. Fish was eventually arrested in connection to Grace's death and other crimes, and was executed at Sing Sing prison. Fish confessed to killing Billy, although the child's remains were never discovered. He was a victim of Hamilton Fish sadism.
