SALLEY -- Services for Karthel Walter Young, 77, will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at Perry Baptist Church, Perry. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Blizzard Funeral Home, Wagener.
Mr. Young died Monday. Born in Aiken Co., he was a son of the late Lenward Hiriam Young and Iola Poole Young. He was a World War II veteran who recieved a Purple Heart, four Bronze Stars and a Distinguished Unit Badge.
Surviving are his daughters, Diane Bolin, Wanda Cooper, Sheila Young; son, Walter Young; brothers, Kennith Young, Glen Young, L.H. (Sonny) Young; sisters, Norma Whetstone, Iris Lake, Myrtle Quattlebaum; six grandchildren.
