Billy Gene Shaw, 75 of Church Hill, TN went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN following a long illness.
Born in Loudon, TN, Billy had lived in Kingston, for 37 years. He was a 21 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in Vietnam. He was a member of the very first football team at Midway High School. He was a member of Grace Community Church in Kingston and a member of the American Legion Post #110 in Kingston and VFW Post #5065 in Sheridan, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fabius Eugene and Dorcas Louise Simpson Shaw; brother, Bobby Shaw; sister, Anna Lou Brogdon.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jerolyn; daughters, Cindy and husband Steve and Wendy and husband John; sisters, Carol, Phyllis, Mary, Judy and Beth; brothers, Jimmy, Virgil, David, Larry and Gary; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home, TN where the Hawkins County Color Guard and the TN National Guard performed the rites. The Color Guard served as pallbearers.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Shaw family.
