The following is a modified copy of the obituary that was published in The Daily Reflector on Apr. 22, 2011

Mrs. Clio J. Alexiades, 83, went to walk with Christ on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 2668 Church St., Winterville. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.

Clio was born in Africa on Aug. 12, 1927, to Alexander and Thalia Lambrou. A very generous, kind and compassionate woman, whose strong will to give her children a better life brought them to America. Clio had a great mind for business and was in nursing. She worked very hard for many years and lived her Greek Orthodox faith with traditions and respect and generosity for others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Alexiades; and son, Nicholas Alexiades.

She is survived by her three children, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her family from Greece; a sister and her two daughters, two brothers (and their wives and sons), and another niece and nephew.
