Military funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Wisconsin Memorial Park for Sgt. Robert I. Heller, 19, of Shorewood, killed in action in Germany Dec. 17, 1944.
Bishop B. F. P. Ivins will officiate at services in the cemetery chapel. The North Shore Post of the American Legion will participate. The body will be in the chapel after 1 p.m.
With Sgt. Frank Waters as military escort, the body arrived in Milwaukee Monday night.
The youthful hero was awarded the Silver Star posthumously July 9, 1947, for gallantry during the Battle of Ardennes.
He attended Shorewood schools, and was graduated from St. John’s Military Academy in 1943.
Surviving besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irving L. Heller, 3929 N. Farwell Av., are two grandmothers, Mrs. Peter Kurz and Mrs. Caroline Heller.
