Funeral services were held at the local Baptist church Thursday for Dennis Fletcher, a former Centertown resident, who died in a veterans hospital in Arizona.

Fletcher was born February 13, 1890 at Centertown and lived here during his early life. He enlisted in the World War where he was gassed and contracted tuberculosis. He spent several years in a veterans hospital, after which he became and electrical engineer for several years in St. Louis. He visited relatives here about four years ago. Shortly after his visit here, he re-entered the veterans hospital in Arizona where he died.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. J.R. Baldwin of McGirk, and Mrs. F.F. McCluney of Jefferson City and a brother, Clay, of Jefferson City.
