Dennis E. Aamodt, 74, Halstad, MN, died Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Halstad Living Center, Halstad, MN.
Dennis Elroy Aamodt was born May 26, 1940, on the farm near Halstad, the oldest child of Clarence and Orpha (Foss) Aamodt. He was baptized and later confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church near their home. Dennis was active around the farm and enjoyed baseball with neighbors, friends, and classmates. He graduated from Halstad High School with the class of 1958.
For many years, Dennis worked for area farmers in addition to working at the American Crystal Sugar plant in Hillsboro, ND, and for Spokely Potato Company in Nielsville, MN. He was an outgoing person and enjoyed conversations with many neighbors and friends. Dennis followed many sporting activities in the area, especially the teams from Norman County West and Ada Borup.
He was an active member at Augustana and assisted with many duties over the years at his church. Dennis lived at home for many years, later caring for his mother after his father’s passing. He resided at the Halstad Living Center for nearly ten years after suffering from a stroke. He enjoyed the staff immensely and always appreciated the care they provided.
Dennis is survived by his brothers, Julian, Dale and Curtis, his sister, Carolyn Rostberg, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Allen, and one nephew, Brent Leen.
