Mrs. Gladys Jean McAlister, 70, of Jones, Louisiana died Thursday, June 15, 2006 at her daughter's residence in Redfield. Mrs. McAlister is a native and resident of LA ARK Community in Morehouse Parish, LA and a former resident of Little Rock, Pine Bluff and McGehee. She was a homemaker, a member of the Wilmot Baptist Church, the Portland Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Francis Vivian Drake Daughters of the American Revolution. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur & Deila Mae Warren Holcomb and a brother, Arthur Carlton Holcomb. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Fred McAlister of Jones, LA; three daughters, Robin McAlister Mangione and husband, Michael, of Fayetteville, AR, Elizabeth McAlister Monk and husband, Dwayne L., of Choudrant, LA and Ashley McAlister Hurst and husband, Kevin, of Redfield, AR; six grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Monk, Hannah Leigh Monk, Cody McAlister Hurst, Evan James Hurst, Ryan Thomas Hurst and Dominic Mangione. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Monday, June 19, 2006 at the Wilmot Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne L. Monk officiating. Burial will be in the Dry Bayou Cemetery. Pallbearers are William & James McAlister, Michael Mangione, Kevin Hurst, Jerry Huffty and Tracy Mayo. Memorials may be made to the Dry Bayou Cemetery Association, c/o Corliss McCain, 3041 HWY 52 E., Wilmot, AR 71676. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
