Alma Waechter - 1921-2015

Alma Waechter of Palacios, Texas died May 03, 2015 at the age of 93 while residing at the Grace Care of Katy. She was born on June 4, 1921 in Palestine, Texas to mother Mattie West Boyd and father Ephram Boyd and sister Alton Grady Boyd. Louise moved to Houston at the age of six weeks and attended Jeff Davis High School. Upon graduation, she went to work at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where she met a group of lifelong friends. She was married twice; her first husband, Warren H. Raymond was killed during the battle for Iwo Jima on March 03, 1942. She married Jack W. Waechter on February 05, 1949 and they moved to Palacios in early 1977. Louise was active in the Presbyterian Church, Alpha Club, and several organizations around the area. As well, she was an avid bridge player and loved to fish and crab off the pier in front of their home. Louise moved to Katy in March 2014. She is survived by her son Boyd Waechter and his wife Rebecca Waechter; grandson Eric Waechter and his wife Monica Waechter of Baton Rouge; and great grandson Cannon Hays Waechter and granddaughter Alden Elise Waechter. There will be a one hour visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday May 7, 2015 followed by a graveside service. Both at the Woodlawn Cemetery and Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, Texas 77055. Flowers are requested to be sent to 24814 Valleylight Drive, Katy, Texas 77494.
