Daughter of Canadian diarist & shipping/timber merchant Col. Simeon Perkins and his 2nd wife Elizabeth Hedley Young Perkins, she was the granddaughter of Jacob Perkins (1709 - 1776) and Jemima Leonard (1710 - 1780) of Norwich, New London Co., CT. Named after father's sister who had died at appx. 16 yoa, Lucy was badly burned as a toddler (1783) when her clothes caught fire by the hearth but recovered. She was educated in Liverpool schools and was skilled in spinning, her hobby.

On 2 Jan 1805, Lucy married Daniel Lathrop BISHOP (b: 20 OCT 1777 in New York, NY) the ceremony taking place in Liverpool, Queens Co., Nova Scotia, Canada. Daniel was a merchant there in business with her father.


Lucy & Daniel had the following children:

1. Henry Young Bishop b: 5 OCT 1805 in Liverpool, Queens Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
2. Samuel Perkins Bishop b: 12 JUN 1807 in Liverpool, Queens Co., Nova Scotia, Canada
3. Elizabeth Perkins Bishop b: 16 AUG 1809 in Liverpool, Queens Co., Nova Scotia, Canada

Lucy & Daniel moved ("back" in Daniel's case) to the states, to New York sometime bef 1811. Lucy died in 1817 (somewhere in New York) and Daniel lived until 1848 dying in Ithaca, NY.
