QUIROGA, Larry Paul (Age 68) Passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at his home in Spokane, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vann Quiroga and Margaret (Peggy) Barnes, and this February by his younger sister, Yvonne Quiroga Nichols. He is survived by his beloved partner of 27 years, Kim Ellingsen; their daughter Kelli Quiroga of Spokane; his son Paul Quiroga (grandson Kyle) of California, stepdaughter Dionne Ellingsen Baker, (Andrew and granddaughter Lindie) and stepson Dustin Ellingsen (Liz and grandson Jay) for whom he was, as with all the family, a grounding presence, their “rock ” for over 20 years.

His sister Dee Carroll resides in Orange County and his aunt Pauline Barnes Dudley resides in Seattle. Larry was a proud veteran of the US Armed Forces, having served in active duty for the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a telecommunications officer aboard the U.S.S. Canberra, the second ever guided-missile warship in the USN fleet. His professional career in commercial lighting sales spanned 45 years, where he was known as an expert in the science and technology of illumination, always valued for going the extra mile for his clients.

Throughout his life, Larry was a self-taught Jack-of-all-trades, including fishing, auto restoration, motorcycles, and also became quite talented at complete home remodeling. Larry’s final resting place will be at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA.

Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating Larry’s life at The Service Station, 9315 N. Nevada St., Spokane, WA 99218, Sunday, May 17th at 2pm.
