Lola May Byington Burt Galloway, 88, passed away on April 15, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, to John Ernest and Della May (Tolman) Byington. She married William Eugene Burt in Pocatello, Idaho, and that union was blessed with seven children; Gloria See, Carol (Ted) Verrier, Diane (Calvin) Balch, Donald (Teena) Burt, Russell (Linda, deceased) Burt, Kevin (Cheri) Galloway and Darlene (Paul) Rader. They were later divorced.

Lola then married Robert Joseph Galloway April 12, 1963, in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 23, 1965. In this union Lola became the stepmother of six children; Sharon (Gerald) Dayley, Robert (Brenda) Galloway, Marilyn (Mike) McGinty, Carol Ann (Craig) Theurer, Michael (Leslie, deceased) Galloway and Roger (Penny) Galloway. She and Robert were later blessed with a daughter, Laura (Owen) Shirley.

Lola was a loving, independent lady who fulfilled a 40-year career as a nurse. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as organist in many wards, starting at 11 years of age. She loved to travel and enjoyed many trips and cruises. She also enjoyed working with her hands and always had a project nearby to crochet or sew. Her children and grandchildren will cherish the memories of her music, as well as the many beautiful quilts and afghans she gifted to them throughout her life.

Most precious to her in life was her family, the memories she made, and her faith in God.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, 13 children, 58 grandchildren, over 100 great-grandchildren and 14+ great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mayona Nelson and Aney Chatterton; one brother, Darrell Byington; her daughter, Laura Lee Galloway Shirley; 3 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
