His body was brought here for the funeral and burial. The service was held in the First Methodist church of this city Sunday afternoon, Rev. E. W. Munson officiating.
Stanley McKay was born and grew to manhood in this city. For a number of years he operated a barber shop in this city and at Fargo, where he moved 24 years ago. For the past six years he has traveled for the Continental Jewelry company, and later for the Bankers Union Life Insurance Co., making his home at Corpus Christi, Texas, Denver, Colo., and Roswell, N. M. He was a faithful and active member of the M. E. church since a young man and a member of the I. O. O. F.
In 1901 he married Marie Edna Johnson of Alexandria and to this union were born five children, Marguerite (Mrs. L. G. Miller) of Flint, Mich., John of Fargo, Rachel (Mrs. E. W. Anderson) of Moorhead, Donald who lived with his parents and Kenneth, who died in infancy.
Besides his widow and four children, he leaves to mourn his passing, two grandchildren, six brothers, Sherman of Portland, Ore., Henry of Spokane, Wash., Roy of Bawlf, Alta, Canada, Will, Ronald and Andrew of Alexandria and four sisters, Mrs. W. V. Abercrombie, Mrs. L. T. Olson and Catharine of Alexandria and Mrs. R. O. Glockner of St. Paul.
Burial will be in Kinkead cemetery beside his son Kenneth, in the McKay lot. Pallbearers were old friends of Mr. McKay. They were Harlan Campbell, Julian Fitzgerald, Earnest Schroeder, Fred Oppel, Albert Allen and Joe Swenson.
