Larry Lowell Jurs was born November 16, 1939 to Herman and Irene (Stusse) Jurs in Ceylon, Minnesota. He grew up in Ceylon and attended school there. On June 24, 1958, Larry entered the United States Army serving until his honorable discharge on May 22, 1961. Larry was employed at Stokley Van-Camp Company in Fairmont. On June 8, 1963, he was united in marriage to Carol Langford at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont, Minnesota. After their marriage Larry continue to work at Stokley Van-Camp Company later United Foods for over thirty years. He then was employed at Kenway Engineering in Fairmont and later being employed at Westin Automotive in St. James until his retirement. Larry greatly enjoyed playing cards, watching television, hunting and fishing and doing metal detecting. He was a member of Duck's Unlimited.

Larry died on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at his home in Welcome, Minnesota at the age of sixty-five years.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Jurs, of Welcome, Minnesota; his children, Dale Jurs and his wife, Lana, of Sherburn, Minnesota, Amy Patnode and her husband, Randy, of Ellenburg Depot, New York, Tammy Smith and her husband, Dave, of Sherburn, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; David Jurs, Kathleen Patnode, Krysta Jurs, Megan and Katie Green, Whitney and Natalie Smith; two brothers, Roger Jurs and his wife, Fran, of Albert Lea, Minnesota and Allen Jurs and his wife, Carol, of Iowa City, Iowa; mother-in-law, Corrine Langford of Fairmont, Minnesota; brothers-in-law, Ed Langford and his wife, Vikki, of Fairmont, Norm Langford of Fairmont, Vernon Langford and his wife, Norma, of Evenston, Wyoming, George Langford and his wife, Joan, of Luverne, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Mary Schoenert of Fairmont; nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, father-in-law, Archie Langford and other relatives.
