Calvin Floyd Osberg was born June 19, 1937 to Floyd and Marie (Doyscher) in the Village of Welcome, Minnesota in Martin County. He attended and later was a 1956 Graduate of Sherburn-Dunnell High School. He then attended Highway Patrol School in Minneapolis. He was united in marriage to Carol Zebedee. They lived in the Sherburn area. Calvin was employed at Sher-Tumico in St. James and then Villager Candy Company and Ag-Chem both in Jackson. On May 13, 1974, he was united in marriage to Gloria Markeson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After their marriage they lived in the Alpha-Jackson area until in 1981 when they moved to Northfield, Minnesota. In 1983, they moved to Minnetonka where they were caretakers for a Condominium. In 1987, they moved to Detroit Lakes where Cal was employed as a grounds keeper, caretaker and then a welder in Pelican Rapids. He greatly enjoyed being outdoors, doing landscape projects and was noted for his beautiful yard. In his spare time he went hunting and enjoyed working on and restoring cars.
Calvin died suddenly on Saturday morning, December 17, 2005 at his home in rural Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Osberg, of rural Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; his children; Julie House and her husband, Gary, of Kearney, Nebraska, Mark Osberg and his wife, Keely, of Bloomington, Minnesota, Jodie Osberg of Edina, Minnesota, Nancy Evenstad and her husband, Cory, of Faribault, Minnesota, Wes Markeson and his wife, Ronda, of Porter, Texas and Charlene Johnson and her husband, Larry, of Faribault, Minnesota; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; cousins and other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his faithful companions, his dogs, Otis and Ginger and his cat, Freckles.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, sister and other relatives.

Burial will be in LaSalle Lutheran Cemetery in LaSalle, Minnesota.
