Charles A. Hill died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at the Merit Health River Region Medical Center. He was 77.

Born and reared in Louisville, he lived in Glen Allan for 30 years, then moved to Greenville, living there for 38 years.

While living in Greenville, he served for 20 years with the Greenville Fire Department and served 13 years with the Washington County Road Department. He also served a short while with the Washington County Sheriff’s Deparment. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 206 F&AM in Greenville.

For the past several years he had been making his home in Vicksburg where he was a member of Levi’s and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Kenny Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Thomas Hill of Vicksburg; his two daughters, Diane Stevenson of Vicksburg and Vicki L. Harter of Waverly, Ga.; two sons, Charles D. Hill and Jimmy M. Hill both of Vicksburg; four sisters, Betty Ponder of Glen Allan, Joyce Shields of Richland, Sandra Herren of Pearl and Pat Sinclair of Slidell, La.; two brothers, David Hill an Danny Hill, both of Greenville; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. E.L. Sharp officiating, assisted by Chaz Rowland. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be J.T. Hill, Michael Hill, Clint Stevenson, Clifton Smith, Andrew Hill and Martin Burris.

Honorary pallbearers are members of the Greenville Fire Dept.
