Lawrence Fennimore Miler was married to his first wife, Della Mae Mitchell, on July 4, 1897 in Clarke County, Iowa. They had seven children, all of whom grew into maturity. Della died of Bright's Disease on March 5, 1916, and is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, Clarke County, Iowa. Their children included three boys - Harlan Ackley Miler (Dec 23, 1898), Orrin Robert Miler (July 2, 1900), and Melvin Wilbur Miler (Melvin changed his name to Bill Myler) (Jan 19, 1902), and they had four girls - Elva Olive (Miler) Lamb (Oct 22, 1906), Bertha Asenath (Miler) Richardson (Apr 2, 1909), Doris Louette (Miler) Carscallen (Feb 27, 1912), and Ferne Avis (Miler) Meekins (Apr 10, 1914).

Lawrence married his second wife, Ida May Arnold-Dorwood, on March 5, 1817 at Des Moines, Iowa. They had one daughter, Ruth Frances (Miler) Brown. Ida May died of a stroke on June 9, 1961 at Des Moines, Iowa. She is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, at Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa.
