Mrs. Sarah SEYMOURE, daughter of John and Mary OXFORD, was born in Kentucky, Sept. 4, 1850. When a small child she came with her parents to Mercer county, Missouri, and settled on the farm that is known as the Robb farm.
She was united in marriage to J. O. SEYMOUR [sic Isaac Oliver SEYMOUR], March 29, 1868, and spent her life near the place where she first settled. To this union were born six children, who survive her except one, Lilly, who died when about five years old. Those that are living are John SEYMOURE, Stroud, Okla., Mary Elizabeth RICHARDSON of Liberal, Kan., Robert SEYMOURE, Effie PARKHURST and Ernest SEYMOURE, all of Davis City, Iowa.
She united with the Church of Christ about 48 years ago. Her husband departed this life November 13, 1913. Together with her children she leaves to mourn her going 28 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren besides a host of other relatives and friends.
She departed this life May 8, 1936, at the home of her son, Ernest, near the age of 86 years.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. DALE at the home of Mr. and Mrs. PARKHURST May 10. Burial at the Seymore cemetery. [The Seymour Cemetery named in this obituary is actually the Hughes Cemetery.]
