Nathan T. Zech, 32, died Thursday, November 11, 2004, at his residence. Son of J. Thomas and Jana J. [Jacobs] Zech of York, he was a 1991 graduate of West York Senior High School. He earned a bachelor's degree from California University and also was a graduate of Municipal Police Officers Academy. Nathan was a police detective with Springettsbury Township Police Department where he had worked for eight years. In 2003 Nathan was recognized as Police Officer of the Year for Springettsbury Twp. He was a member of York County Quick Response Team; Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 73; Free and Accepted Masons, Zeredetha Lodge 451; Viking Athletic Assoc.; and was a previous member of York County Drug Task Force. In addition to his parents, Nathan is survived by a brother, Tobin L. and his wife, Tania Zech of York; maternal grandmother, Alliene Jacobs of York; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Zech Klinedinst of York; two nieces, Amber and Miranda Zech; and numerous aunts and uncles.
