Larry Archie, 64, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Dec. 26, 1949, in East Prairie, son of Betty Sue Odell Archie, who survives of East Prairie, and the late Mark Archie, he was of the Baptist faith and a 1967 graduate of East Prairie High School. He was a salesman for Malone and Hyde, Harts Bakery and Sysco Foods of Memphis, Tenn., for 32 years where he was a member of the Torchbearers Club for 12 years. He was initiated Jan. 25, 1984, to the Sikeston Elks as an exalted ruler and also held offices of tiler, inner guard, local knight and leading knight.
He was married to Kathie Arnold Archie, who survives of the home in Sikeston.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Craig Archie of East Prairie, Christopher and Gina Archie of Canalou and Jeff and Lisa Archie of Sikeston; one stepdaughter, Tracy Rice of Cape Girardeau; one brother and sister-in-law Mark Daniel and Kathy Archie of Mayfield, Ky.; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, June Maxey of East Prairie, Monda and Tim Johnson of Dogwood, Patty and Billy Owens of Harrison, Ark., Crystal Tripp of East Prairie; his mother-in-law, Fleta Jo Arnold of Sikeston; sister-in-law, Vickie Howard of Sikeston; brother-in-law, Michael Arnold of St. Louis; nine grandchildren, Jacquline Archie, Brendon Archie, Alyssa Archie, Jasmine Kennedy, Katie Beth Archie, Theron Archie, Skyler Archie, Logan Archie and Claudia Davis; and one great-grandchild, Kensley Grace Kennedy.
In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Arnold; and brother-in-law, Mark Arnold.
Family interment will be held at a later date.
