Allen Claus Sinn was born August 1, 1907 to Christ and Katherine (Roenfeldt) Sinn in Triumph, Minnesota. He was baptized on April 3, 1931 at the Triumph Methodist Church and attended rural schools in Elm Creek Township. On August 31, 1937, he was united in marriage to Clara Fisher at Estherville, Iowa. After their marriage they farmed in Elm Creek Township until retiring in 1973 moving into Sherburn. Allen worked for Roger and Caroline Kahler and also did some trucking in the Sherburn area. Clara died on November 24, 2000. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Trimont. He greatly enjoyed working with wood and fixing things with his hands. Allen enjoyed being outdoors, and went fishing. On his farm, he took excellent care of his livestock. In his later years, he made pies and cookies and gave them away and enjoyed his garden and flowers at his home in Sherburn. Since November 2004, Allen has been staying in Jackson, Minnesota to be near his children.

Allen died on Sunday morning, September 18, 2005 at McKennon Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of ninety-eight years.

Allen is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Matejka of Jackson, Minnesota; his son, Ronald Sinn and his wife, Marcia, of Jackson, Minnesota; a granddaughter, Cheryl Sinn of Buffalo, Minnesota; brother, Floyd Sinn and his wife, Margaret, of Trimont, Minnesota; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Clara; brothers, Milford in infancy in 1909, Clifford on March 26, 1925, Ervin on January 24, 1996 and other relatives.
