Mrs. Lawrence (Florence) Olson was born April 23, 1879, at the old McKay home on McKay Avenue, daughter of John and Angeline McKay. She grew to womanhood in this city and for many eyars taught school int he rural schools of Douglas county. On June 29, 1907 she was united in marriage to lawrence T. Olson of Nelson. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Alexandria where they have made their residence at their home on Lincoln Avenue East for the past 45 years. Two children were born to this union: one son, Donald, and one daughter, Angeline, who passed away in 1935. Mrs. Olson had been in ill health for the past twenty years, suffering pain most of the time. She lived a quiet home life, enjoying her family and many friends. She passed away at the Our Lady of Mercy hospital in Alexandria, May 26th, at the age of 77 years, one month and three days.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, her son, two granddaughters, Judy and Jean Olson; two sisters, Miss Catherine McKay and Mrs. Roy Glockner (Elizabeth) of St. Paul. She was preceded in death by one daughter, seven brothers and one sister.
