Billy R. Moore, 77, of Marshall, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at his home.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Father Kevin Gormley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Chase Kempf, Matt Whitney, Dan Whitney, Brian Grier, Travis Kempf and Brad Coffey. Burial with military rites will be in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall, with prayer service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church or Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice.

Born Jan. 23, 1927, in Marshall, he was the son of the late John Lee Moore and Anna Marie Wilson Moore.

On July 25, 1953, he married Martha Elizabeth King, who preceded him in death March 2, 1985.

On May 31, 1986, he married Mildred Martin Kempf O'Brian, who survives of the home.

He was a graduate of Marshall High School and was a retired carpenter. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 876 in Marshall, American Legion Post No. 191 in Marshall and Trilumina Lodge No. 205 A.F. & A.M.

Additional survivors include one daughter, Kay Beth Ludden of Springfield; three stepsons, Jerry Kempf of Columbia, Daniel Kempf of Mattoon, Ill., and Greg Kempf of Marshall; one stepdaughter, Pam Whitney of Marshall; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one sister in infancy.
