Age 85years & 3days. Son of Joseph Rankin. Husband of (1) Isabella Close, who he married on Nov. 29, 1853 in Guilford Co., NC, and (2) Elizabeth Fox, who he married December 24th, 1884.

Supposedly a Captain in the Confederate Army, but I have not verified that yet.
