COLGIN, Ellerson Harvey Jr., 64, of Claremont, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015. He was a son of the late Ellerson Harvey Colgin Sr. and Julia Doris Henderson Colgin. Harvey retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation, where he worked on the Jamestown Ferry. He was a member of the Claremont Ruritan Club, where he was recently installed as vice president and was an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Boyd Colgin. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Rosie Williams and husband, Hugh, of Watcross, Ga., Patricia Cullison and husband, Buddy, of Daytona, Fla. and Sandra Snow and husband, Kenneth, of Richmond, Va.; and nephews, J.B. Snow and Roy Snow, also of Richmond, Va. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, 11414 General Mahone Hwy., Wakefield, Va. 23888, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the funeral home, with Rev. Kirby Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Claremont Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Claremont Ruritan Club, P.O. Box 261, Claremont, Va. 23899.
