Daughter of Samuel Green & Harriet(Tower) WHITNEY. She first married Francis E or B Bly on July 30 1880 by Justice of Peace with George S Whitney as a witness. Being they had a child Luella on July 12, 1880, they possibly were trying to get married fast before her father found out, which later was very angry. They were remarried again, for whatever reason not sure, on Sept 1 1880 by Justice of Peace but noticed the first record showed Francis middle name as E instead of B, so maybe that was why but I doubt it. This time her father Samuel G Whitney was a witness. I was told that Francis took off to become a logger and would write letters to Marie but her dad would intercept them and tear them up. No one knows what happened to Francis as she then later married Simpson William Shipman on Jan 17 1880.
