Charles Jr. was a 1951 graduate of Guthrie (Kentucky) High School where he starred on their basketball team. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served in Korea during the Korean War. After his enlistment, he married in 1956 and started a family in College Grove, TN where he lived the rest of his life. He worked for Louisville and Nashville (L&N) Railroad, later acquired by CSX, for 43 years. Charlie’s father was also a life-time employee of L&N.
