Lillie-Jo was a loved Daughter and Sister. She had graduated from Whittier Union High School in 1969, and had recently started classes at Rio Hondo College. On April 9, 1970 Lillie-Jo accompanied a fellow classmate to Lake Arrowhead to obtain some sort of Christian pamphlets. On the way home from Lake Arrowhead, while coming down the 10 freeway in Covina by Kellogg Hill the driver lost control of the vehicle. Lillie was mortally wounded while the driver miraculously survived the accident.
Lillie-Jo was survived by her mother Marjorie Aileen (Hale) Cusick, her Step Father Francis Sterling Cusick, her brother Mark (Rusty) Cusick and her Step Brother Craig Cusick.
