Henry was the son of Henry John and Theresa Keim. He was married to Anna Marie Goellner. They had nine children with their first son being stillborn and buried on their farm.

Mr. Keim enlisted into the service 21 September 1917, discharged 1 June 1919. He was working as a farmer for Nolte Brothers in Golden Eagle, IL when he enlisted in the Army. He was an ambulance driver in France, but he also assisted the surgeons when they operated. He farmed his entire life in the Hull, IL bottoms near the Mississippi River (across from Hannibal, MO), after he moved from Calhoun County IL following service in WWI. He retired to Hull, IL, where he passed away from a heart attack in his sleep.

Henry W. Keim, 66, of Hull, a retired farmer, was found dead bed at his home about 7:45 o'clock Monday morning. December 15, 1958. He had been under a doctor's care for the past year.

Born October 11, 1892 at Brussels, he was the son of Henry and Theresa Footstein Keim. On September 7, 1919, he was married to Anna Goellner at Hannibal. They moved to Hull that year and Mr. Keim engaged in farming there until he retired in 1956. He was member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hannibal and a member of the Hull American Legion Post. He served in the medical corps during World War I.

Funeral service were held Thursday morning, December 18, at 10 o'clock in St. Mary Church at Hannibal, in charge of the Rv. Father Joseph Bugler. Interment was in St. Mary Cemetery.

At 7 o'clock Wednesday evening December 17, military rites were conducted at the Clark Funeral Home in Hannibal by the Hull Post 1061 American Legion and at 8 o'clock the Rosary was recited by Father Bugler.

Mr. Keim is survived by his wife; four daughter, Mrs. Gene Gray, Mrs. Charles Kelley and Miss Margaret Keim, all of Hull, and Mrs. William Edmiston of Kinderhook; two sons, Harry and Allen Keim of Hull; two brothers, George and Joseph Keim of St. Louis; five sisters, Mrs. Henry Schulte and Mrs. Pearl Wilchetz of St. Louis, Mrs. Ellye Evans of Willey, CO, Mrs. Michael Aecto of Glencoe, MO, and Mr. Ben Toppmeyer of Brussels; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were two sons, two brothers and one sister.
