Dr. Carter grew up in Anniston, Alabama and graduated from Anniston High School. H received his degree in dentistry from Emory University and returned to Anniston to practice dentistry. Following his marriage to Lavada Ann Burgess he moved to Irondale, Alabama and practiced dentistry for the next 37 years. He was a member of the Irondale Masonic Lodge and the First Baptist Church of Irondale. He was also an active member of the Alliance Francaise of Birmingham and spent the last 30 years of his life studying French and traveling to Europe. Funeral service will be Saturday April 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel with interment to follow in Forest Crest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday April 3, 2015 at the funeral home from 5 until 7 PM.
