Charles L. Fowle died suddenly at Dowagiac, Mich. Tuesday morning a brief illness. He was 64 years of age, having been born at Emerald Grove, Wis. April 30, 1856. His parents were Jacob and Lovina Fowle. The family moved to Oshkosh In 1868 where they took a. prominent part in social and civic affairs, Mr. Fowle spent his early years in this city, where he received part of his education. He later resided at Fargo. N. D. where he joined the Masonic lodge. Mr., Fowle was a thirty-second degree Mason.
He was married at Red Wing, Minn, to Miss Jean Sherman. who with two children, Evelyn and Lee, survive him.
Later he moved to Dowagiac, Mich. where he resided at the time of his death and where he was president of the Dowagiac Manufacturing company, a concern manufacturing harvesting implements. He was a frequent visitor in this city, where he had a wide circle of friends and relatives.
Besides his wife and children, he is survived by his mother. Mrs. Lovina Fowle of this city, and four sisters. Mrs. Jerome Briggs of Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. G. F. Wright of this city and Mrs. Lovina Kellogg and Mrs. Anna Adams, both of Chicago. Mr. Fowle was also the brother of the late Mrs. F. K. Waite and the late Mrs. Byron Dale.
Funeral services will be held by the Masons at Dowagiac, after which the remains will be brought to this city.
