Maurice Meyer Minton was the managing editor or the New York Herald. He also contributed Society columns to the New York Times. He also owned the publications The Illustrated American and The Town. He was very active in Democratic Party politics. His support of Judge Alton B. Parker led to Judge Parker's nomination as the Democratic candidate for President in 1904.
