James Willard Harris was born in Franklin, Louisiana to Charles and Nettie Harris. He grew up there and when the 1st World War came along he join the Army.
He served his country durning the war and he ended up being stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. When he was discharged he liked San Antonio and he went to work there. He met and married his wife Carabell. Uncle Bill and Aunt Carabell lived there the rest of their lives. They had no children. My mother always called him "Williard" and the rest of them called him "Bill". He was my mother's big brother and she loved him dearly because he looked after her after their mother died. Uncle Bill died of pneumonia and other natural causes. At one time he worked for a Cadillac Dealer in san Antonio. Aunt Carabell preceded him in death in 1970.
Buried at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. His funeral was handled by Roy Akers Funeral Home. His death is recorded in San Antonio Metropolitan Health District, Statistical Services Division, Registrars File No. 001400, 25 FEB 1988.
Uncle Bill lived to be 90 years and 7 months and 16 days old.
