Arvid Joseph Sjogren was born March 25,1911 to Carl and Clara (Lindell) Sjogren on the family farm in Cedar Township, Martin County, Minnesota. He attended rural school District #110 in Cedar Township. Arvid was a 1929 Graduate of Triumph High School. On September 23, 1936, Arvid was united in marriage to Mabel Swanson in the Parsonage of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Triumph, Minnesota. After their marriage they farmed Arvid's family farm in Cedar Township until turning it over to his son, Dennis who is farming it today. Arvid and Mabel moved into Trimont in 1981 and on November 27, 2000 became a resident of the Trimont Health Care Center. Arvid was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church and spent many years on the church board, where he was Chairman and taught Sunday School. He was on the Martin County Brotherhood Board, Stony Point Bible Camp Board, District #110 School Board and the Farmers Elevator Board. Arvid and Mabel enjoyed traveling to Europe especially to the Holy Land, Sweden, Norway and Russia. They wintered south in Texas or Arizona.

Arvid died on Thursday morning, December 30, 2004 at the Trimont Health Care Center in Trimont, Minnesota at the age of ninety-three years.

His wife, Mabel of the Trimont Health Care Center; his four children: son, Carl Sjogren of Bisbee, Arizona; daughter, Phyllis Smith and her husband, Bob, of St. Petersburg, Florida; daughter, Gloria Brunzell and her husband, Gene, of Arcadia, California; son, Dennis Sjogren and his wife, Roxanne, of rural Trimont, Minnesota; special niece who they helped raise Linda Miest and her husband Earl of Manhattan, Montana; 10 grandchildren Shauna, Perry, Heidi, Lisa, Duc, Kristen, Jon, Joshua, Sonja and Kiley; 8 great-grandchildren Lauren, Annie, John, Ella, William, Andrew, Katie and Kristina; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
