Arnold Lawrence “Yankee” Lippert
SANTA FE - Mr. Arnold Lawrence “Yankee” Lippert passed from this life Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at his home.
Born May 25, 1920 in Steele, North Dakota, Mr. Lippert had been a resident of Santa Fe for 43 years. He had been employed at Monsanto Chemical in Texas City as a Chemical Operator where he retired after 33 years of service, served in the US Navy during WWII from 1942-1946 and was of the Lutheran faith. He had been very active in the Galveston County Fruit and Pecan Growers Association, a member of the Master Gardener Association of Galveston County and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Stephanie Lippert; parents, Fred and Selma (Herring) Lippert; brothers, Earl and Marvin Lippert.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Flora Lippert; sons, David Lippert and wife, Patricia of Santa Fe, Mark Lippert and wife, Cathi of Santa Fe; daughter, Susan Essery and husband, Dean of Santa Fe; grandchildren; Darin Lippert, Laura Graves and husband, Allan, Shaun Essery, Eve Essery, Andy Minter, Lindsey Lippert, Meghan Lippert, Erin Lippert; great-grandchildren; Ashley Lippert, Kelsey Lippert, Jacob Graves, Emily Graves; brothers, Jim Lippert and wife, Rosemary of Athens, Texas, Fred Lippert and wife, Virginia of Alvin.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. The cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
