Born Oct. 13, 1918, in Plainfield, to Frank and Rose (Mueller) Dannenberg. He married June Vickroy on Feb. 10, 1949, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Aurora.
A lifelong dairy and crop farmer, he was a member of the Fox River Lutheran Church, the La Salle County Farm Bureau, and the Pure Milk Association. He was a plowing match judge in Big Rock and Wheatland.
Mr. Dannenberg is survived by his wife, June; two sons, Richard (Dolores) Dannenberg of Sheridan, Gerald (Andrea) Dannenberg of Mineral Point, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Marc (Kelly) Dannenberg of Newark, Brent (Sandra) Dannenberg of Leland, Bruce (Sarah) Dannenberg of Mineral Point, Daniel (Liz) Dannenberg of Mineral Point, Peter Dannenberg of Newark, Anastasia Dannenberg of Mineral Point, and Laurianna Dannenberg of Mineral Point.
He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Calyn Dannenberg, Courtney Dannenberg, Zane Dannenberg, McKena Dannenberg, Gavin Dannenberg, Robbie Dannenberg, Hailee Fae Dannenberg; one sister, Esther (Dick) Thom of Aurora; one sister-in-law, Rita Adams of George; and two brothers-in-law, Stanley (Evelyn) Gramstad of Anaheim, Calif., and Tom (JoAnne) Vickroy of Aurora.
Mr. Dannenberg was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Frances Gramstad; and one brother-in-law, Don Adams.
